Mission at GHS North
“I greatly believe that every student deserves the right to a good education. I feel that students warrant second chances, which is one of the greatest reasons why I love teaching at GHS North. To be able to help a student get a high school degree is a fantastic reason to go to work every morning. As much as I try to help the students, I recognize that they facilitate my growth as an educator as well. By getting to know my students as individuals, I know that they can succeed in life and be a positive impact on society. I see it every day and make it my goal to make my students enjoy coming to school and see the value of a quality education."

Josh Corbin, Apex Program Supervisor
I was born and raised in Galesburg. I attended Silas Willard Elementary, Lombard Middle School, and GHS. My parents are Jeff and Kaye Corbin. My dad is a Knoxville graduate and works for John Deere, while my mom is a Galesburg graduate and works for DD Homes. I attended Carl Sandburg College off and on for several years, unsure of what I wanted to do. I finally decided to transfer to Lincoln Christian University in 2008 because I desired to have a Biblical foundation for my education. I love music and theater. I have performed in several musicals with Prairie Players Civic Theater here in Galesburg. I am excited to be back in Galesburg because I love this city and I look forward to doing my part to make it better.
Mission at GHS North
I am very excited to be here because I believe that every child is worth fighting for. I believe that GHS North is a second chance and that we as the staff have an opportunity to help these kids succeed in life. I may not have went to school to become a teacher (I actually went to school to become a worship minister), but I am confident this is where I am meant to be. My goal is
to make sure that every student in my class knows that no matter where they come from or what their past looks like they have the ability to succeed and become a contributing member of society as long as they work hard and make good choices.

Amy Gugliotta, Outreach/Counselor
I was born in the Bronx, New York. My father took a position at Carl Sandburg College in 1975. I was raised in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School. After college, I worked at a private behavior disorder school and then ran group homes for developmental disabled adults. I am blessed to have 4 children (Megan, Anna, Sophia, and Andrew). After the birth of my first daughter, I became a stay at home mom and did so for 12 and a half years. I then was offered a position with District 205. After a year of subbing, I accepted a new position at Galesburg’s new alternative high school. I am now the outreach/counselor. It’s truly my dream job.
Mission at GHS North
“I work at GHS North because I believe in this program. We live in a society where we give all students the opportunity for an education. Many of our students have traveled a tough and winding road; however, they have decided to work hard and complete high school. GHS North prides itself in creating a safe family environment for its students and staff. There is a pride at our school that you can feel as you walk through the front door. I love coming to work every day and feel blessed to work with such amazing young adults and staff. I invite all people from our Galesburg community to take a visit to GHS North and see what we are all about. We are a second chance for Galesburg High School students"

Summer Fowler, Paraprofessional
I was born and raised in Galesburg, IL. I went to Silas, Churchill, and GHS. I am a graduate of the class of 2003. I attended CSC right after high school but did not finish, I really didn't know what I wanted to do. It wasn't until 2009 that I went back to school at Kaplan University to pursue my associate degree in Paralegal studies. I love to travel and do so when I have the time. I am married and have two children, a boy and a girl.
Mission at GHS North
I have been with North for a while now. I have seen a lot of students walk through these doors with the mindset of just showing up to just to get their diploma. While they are here they see that North is a family. The amazing staff wants to see all of the students succeed in life. They see how much we care for them and go the extra mile for them, that makes them want to be here. They no longer have the thoughts of just showing up just to graduate. They show up to learn, to make a difference, and to become something.
Education
Associates in Paralegal Studies class of 2011.
